CALLED TO ETERNAL REWARD

Death again took its toll from the ranks of Creighton's early residents, when its embrace reached Mrs. Catherine Balleweg at her home last Friday morning at 8:30. She had been ill for several months with heart trouble and complications to which was attributed her passing.

Catherine Rehberg, daughter of John and Amelia Rehberg, was born at Genesee, Wis., July 18, 1859 and died, June 14, 1935 at the age of 75 years.

She came with her parents to Brunswick in March 1885.

In May 1888, she was united in wedlock to Wm. Balleweg. This
union was blessed with four children; Esther and Mrs. Hyacinth Rayer and sons, Carl J and Otto.

Following their marriage, they lived a short time in Holt County on a homestead and then, came to Creighton, where Mrs. Balleweg resided until her death.

Her husband preceded her to the other world, June 21, 1927.

Besides her children other relatives, who mourn her departure are ten grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Hyacinth Kemmel of Brunswick and three brothers, John of San Antonio, Fla, Frank of Beemer and Leo of Royal.

The deceased was a woman of high ideals, of true refinement. She was a devoted mother, an earnest Christian and a devout member of St. Ludger Catholic Church.

Her passing will grieve the many whose lives were made pleasanter by the friendly character of she, who now reposes in death. Her life was marked with consistency and devotion to all.

Funeral services were held, Monday morning from St. Ludger Catholic Church, with Father Windolph presiding. A large congregation of relatives and friends was in attendance. A large floral display surrounded the casket.

Mrs. Balleweg was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, a charter member of the Legion Auxiliary. These two organizations and the Thursday Club attended the last rites in a body. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Steve Mattern, John Darcy Sr., Fred Veenker, Peter Richling, Joe Dohmen and John Huigens.
