Mrs. Ballard was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Silas Leon and Edna Schaffer Harper. She was a member of Calvary Community Chapel. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Walter E. Ballard, Sr. of Fort Valley; daughters, Beverly (Rusty) Ray of Fort Valley, Theresa (Frankie) Roberts of Roberta, Wendy Mullis of Fort Valley; son, Walter "Bubba" Ballard, Jr. of Fort Valley; thirteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and sisters, June Pettis of Macon, Shelby Barbee of Macon, Cookie Pelt of Macon; and brother, Alfred Harper of Byron; and several nieces and nephews.
