Ernest Organ Ballard, Jr., 84 of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Town and Country Health and Rehab Center in Minden, LA. He was born August 7, 1930, to Ernest Organ Ballard, Sr. and Argie Childs Ballard in El Dorado, AR.

He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, past Distinguished President of the El Dorado Civitan, Distinguished Governor of the Ozark District Civitans, Fellow of the Civitan International Research Center, past El Dorado Rotary Club Member, Paul Harris Fellow, life member of the American Dental Association, life member of the Arkansas State Dental Association, past President of the ArkLaTex Dental Association, served on numerous boards locally and statewide. Governor Huckabee appointed him to serve two terms on the Psychiatric and Psychology board.

Preceding him in death are his parents; four sisters, Mildred Wood, Maxine Bryant, Violet Hood, Gracie Jones; and previous wife, Carolyn Ballard.

Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Shirley Mansfield Ballard of El Dorado; three children, Ernest Organ "Trip" Ballard, III and his wife Sheryl of Johnstown, CO, Renee Skinner and her husband David of El Dorado, Tobi Ballard and her husband, Guy Lefebvre of Brussels, Belgium; two step-sons, Steven Holsten and his wife Shirley of Kennett, MO, Tim Holsten and his wife Kim of Kennett, MO; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and nine step-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Father Charles Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park
