Benjiman William Ball
Ogden – Benjiman William Ball died Jan 11, 2011. He was born June 29, 1926 in Salt Lake County to James G. Ball and Lillian Atkinson Ball. He married Veda Miller July 18, 1947 in Ogden, Utah; later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Ben served in the Navy during WWII; he attended Navy Ship reunions in many places across the country.
He graduated from Ogden High, Weber State and BYU, attaining a Bachelor's Degree. He worked as an assembler at Utility Trailers. He enjoyed mechanics, woodworking, and was a jack of all trades. Ben loved traveling and searching out genealogy.
Ben was a life time member of the LDS Church serving as a Group Leader, Ward Clerk, home teacher and genealogy leader. He served in the Washington, Tacoma Mission, the Australian, Perth Mission and a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City.
He is survived by his wife Veda; children, Kathleen (Earl) Bullock, Gordon (Nancy) Ball, KayLynne (Jack) Obermeyer; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister, Charles O. (Joann) Ball, Lillian Billings and Richard Ball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; a sister and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Burch Creek 7th Ward Chapel located at 37th and Eccles. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 14th at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 – 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 1 – 1:45 p.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
