Alfred (Al) Dennison Ball passed away on May 13, 2003. He was 91 years old. Visitation will be held from 1:00-5:00 P.M. on Friday, May 16, 2003 at Whispering Pines Funeral Home 185 N.E. 4th St. Prineville. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, May 19, 2003 at Redmond Memorial Cemetery, Redmond.

Alfred was born on June 5, 1911 to Oliver and Maude (Cory) Ball in Kirk, Colo.

Al married Thelma Terrill April 5, 1993 in Reno, Nev.

Mr. Ball attended school, and graduated from Jerome, Idaho. He attended college in Moscow, Idaho.

After college he moved to Redmond, where he worked for Swift & Co. for several years as a certified butter maker until the plant closed. Al worked for the Tite-Knot Sawmill until 1942.

He went to work for Morrison-Knudson Construction Co. in Hawaii on Red Hill then moved back to Redmond. Alfred was owner of Al's Super Cream Ice Cream Store in Redmond for approximately 1-1/2 years and worked for Kilgore's Dairy until the mid 70's when he retired.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing pinochle, visiting with family and friends.

Alfred was a member of Redmond Grange, Redmond.

Survivors include his wife Thelma Terrill, Bend, daughter, Phyllis Redding and one granddaughter, Sharon Ollendorf of Prineville, 6 step children, 5 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 2 wives, Waneta and Dorthea and 1 granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army or charity of one's choice.
