Arthur H. Ball
Funeral services were held from the New Hebron Baptist Church Monday morning for Arthur H." Cotton" Ball, former sheriff of Marion county and a well known fiqure here. The Baptist and Methodist ministers of New Hebron officiated. Burial was in the New Hebron cemetery.
In ill health more than two months, Mr. Ball died at his home in New Hebron Saturday night. He had many friends and relatives in Marion county, including a daughter, Mrs. Garner Campbell of Columbia, who mourn his death. He was 69 years old.
Mr. Ball served as sheriff of Marion county several years ago and was a capable and efficient official. He had lived at New Hebron for the past sixteen years, moving their from Columbia. Up until his health failed him, he was engaged in farming and lumbering in this section.
Among the survivors are his wife, Mrs. Jennie Ball of New Hebron and a daughter Arthurine Campbell, of Columbia.

affairs and probably has more Marion county citizens on his pay roll than other home man.
In addition to his business training received through many lines.
Mr.Ball is familiar with ever nook of this county and know it's needs and the remedy.
Energy however is his main personal asset and this he has to an over bounding extant.In less than a weeks times he
In less than a week time he has demonstrated that he
proposes to do his duty.
To summon the new sheriff enters his office under favorable condition and has a splendid opportunity to make good.
In his campaign he advocated certain reforms and the county
is to be congratulated on having an official who has the
executive-ability to act.Mr.O.J.Foxworth of Foxworth, is his
deputy he could not have selected a more dependable man.
Other deputies will be selected as occasion demands.
