Waldo Trevor Ball son of Mr. and Mrs. LL Ball of Sedalia was killed early Monday morning when his car left Highway 63 near Westpgalia and struck a culvert. Highway patrol authorities investigating the accident stated that it probably occurred about 3:am Monday morning. The body was found three and half hours later.
Waldo was alone in the car at the time of the accident. It is not known whether he went to sleep or shether his car was forced off the road by another motorist.
Friends at Columbia, where he was a telegrapher for the Western Union daid they believed he was either enrounte to Rolla or returnning from where he was with friends. It was later determined that he was en route to Columbia from Rolla.
The deceased was born at Versialles May 17, 1916 the son of LL and Irene Ball. His parents moved to Sedalia in 1923. He attended Washington school and graduated farom Smith-Cotton High school in Sedalia. After graduating from high school he enrolled as a student at the Chillic business college and studied telegraphy after which he was employed by Western Union. He spent 3 years with Western Union in Sedalia. and returned to the Kansas City division about three years ago. He worked in Sedalia during 1940 as a relief operator for Len Lennartz manager of the Sedalia officw who was on vacation and also was the operator at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. Since January 1 he had been working at the Western Union office in Columbia and had visited with his parents numerous times over the week and since going there.
He is survived by his parents and one sister Mrs. Virgina Woodward 519 West Fourth Street Sedalia. He was a cousin of Mrs. Edna Marie Forrest of Versailles and a nephew of Nelson Ball of Versailles and Austin Ball of Camdenton and of Miss Jalia ball of Kansas City. Funeral services were held in Sedalia Wednesday. Death Cert# 25757

Among those attending the funeral service for Trevor Ball son of Mr. and Mrs Lester Ball in Sedalia Wendesday afternoon were; Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Bll, Mr and Mrs Sheldon Ball, Mr and Mrs Emmet Ball, Mr and Mrs. Shelton Ball, C. E Ball, Mr and Mrs John Todd, Mr and Mrs Julius Cooper, and daughter , Mrs Wiley Cooper, Earl Goddard, Miss Erma Goddard,, Miss Ella Ratcliff, Mrs Dean Ratcliff and children, Mrs Nettie Krog. Mr and Mrs Ross Neumeyer, Mr and Mrs Ulen Forrest and Mr and Mrs Austin Ball and Mr and Mrs Dave Ball of Camdenton and Jim Ball of Springfield.
