Rhea C. Ball, 81, of Carrollton, Ky., formerly of Trimble County, Ky., died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at VA Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

He was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Trimble County, the son of Nathaniel and Pearl Mae Colbert Ball. He was employed in construction, where he helped build bridges; and also was employed at the Jefferson Proving Ground. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was also a past member of the American Legion, Post 41.

Surviving are his caregiver, Eileen Sanders of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herman and Joseph; and four sisters, Ruby, Gladys, Jewel and Beulah.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, with burial in the Bedford IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday; and from 9 a.m. to time of the funeral Monday, at the funeral home.
