2nd Lt. Alfred BALLENGER (BALLINGER) enlisted as a private in Company B, 90th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on September 10, (or 18th) 1861. He was transferred to Company I and advanced through the ranks, being Promoted from 1st Sergeant ( to 2nd Lieut) on January 4, 1863. He was discharged November 20, 1864 at the expiration of his term.
