Mrs. Ethel May Bales, who died Monday at her residence, 6120 N. Montana avenue, will receive last rites Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Colonial Mortuary, with burial in Riverview cemetery.
Mrs. Bales was born in Lexington, Neb., July 6, 1881. She was educated in Dayton, Or., and married William E. Bales there in 1906. They came to Portland 31 years ago. Mrs. Bales was an active member of the Foursquare Gospel church.
Surviving, besides the widower, are a daughter, Mrs. H. D. Cecil Jr., Portland; sons, R. E. Bales, in South America; W. E. Bales Jr., Temple City, Cal., and G. H. Bales, Portland; her father, D. C. Van Dorn, Long Beach, Cal.; brother, Earl Van Dorn, Venice, Cal., and seven grandchildren.
