Benjamin Joseph Peat was born in Bow to William John Peat of London (1846-1920)and his wife Elizabeth Watts, also of London (abt 1849-1927). At a young age he was living in 1 Eliza Place with his parents and siblings.
Caroline Swaby was born in "Bumba East Indies", which is thought to be Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) in India. Child of John Swaby (1840-69) and Caroline Stiles (1841- ). Her father died when she was still a baby, her mother later remarried and she was brought up by her mother and her new husband, James Johnson, in a house full of her siblings and half siblings at 48 Appian Way.
Benjamin and Caroline married 13 June 1886 in Bow. They lived at 4 Autumn Street in Bow where Benjamin was an ink colour maker.
Then they moved to 197 North Street in Barking, where Benjamin worked in the Lawes Chemical Works at nearby Creeksmouth.
They had over 12 children, some of whome became adults, married and had children of their own in due course. They have many descendants to the present day.
Ernest James Baldwin may or not be related, he was born about 1901 in Walthamstow to Albert E Baldwin of St Georges Square and his wife Eliza C Baldwin of Chelsea probably nee Wise.
