Elmer John Baldwin, 83, passed away peacefully September 9, 2000 after a short battle with cancer.

Born Feb 24, 1917 to John R. And Helen Harmon Baldwin. Married Mary Mitchell Sept 24, 1938. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Graduated from West High School in 1934. Retired from the University of Utah Athletics department and became a sunseeker in Southern Utah and Arizona. Elmer was a dedicated family man and outdoor enthusiast who greatly enjoyed the company of family and friends.

Survived by his wife, Salt Lake; two grandchildren, Steven J. (Amanda) Baldwin, Salt Lake, Shari R. (Brady) Mora, Salt Lake; brothers and sisters, Floyd (Bea), St. George, Byron (Arlene), Idaho Falls, Louise (Paul) Purdue, Salt Lake, Norma (Glen) Bennett, Bountiful; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son, Jerry Allen; daughter, Eileen Robbins; and grandson, John A. Baldwin.

Services will be held Tuesday, Sept 12, 11 a.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 So. 1700 E. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
