Eleazer Bronson "E. B." Baldwin, son of Joel Baldwin and Sarah Gorham, was born on 1 Dec 1802 in Branford, New Haven, CT. His family moved and in 1810 they were in Oneida, NY.

By June 1816 they had settled in Riga, now Chili, Monroe, NY where his father was one of the first two deacons of the Presbyterian church.

He married Charlotte P Essay on 7 Mar 1837 in Monroe, NY. She was a daughter of William and Lydia Esray and born 6 Apr 1812 at Mount Pleasant, Wayne, PA.

He was mentioned in the Will of his father Joel Baldwin Sr. on 10 May 1834 in Chili, Monroe, NY
"I also further give and bequeath unto my fourth son Eleazer B. Baldwin all the remaining part of my Freehold Estate and also all my Personal Estate goods and chattels of what kind and nature so ever it being understood that the said Eleazer B. is to have what remains of the Estate after the paying other heirs as above- Excepting one Bed and Beding" "And further my son Eleazer B. Baldwin shall furnish after my decease for his father and also for his mother out of his share of the Estate two set of Gravestones worth at least fifteen dollars each."

The original farm was 246 acres and encompassed lots 62, 66, 121, 122, 155 and 192. As the original farm was passed through owners over several years, lots were added and lots were sold. The Dribble and Hemmingway farms were cut from this land. According to the records of Monroe County, and the Township of Riga, the land purchased from the Lord Cathecart through Agent James Wadsworth was first recorded when ownership was given to Eleazer Bronson Baldwin and Charlotte his wife.

June 1846 Eleazer Bronson Baldwin was sentenced to 3 months in jail and a fine of $150 for receiving stolen property. Shortly after this, he moved his family to Lagrange, Lorain, OH.

On Oct 1850 he was listed with wife and 5 children and is a farmer and on 9 Jul 1860 with 4 children in Lagrange, Lorain, OH.

They moved again and on 8 Aug 1870 he was listed as a farmer with wife and daughter Sarah in Antwerp Township, Van Buren, MI. He wrote his Will 5 Sep 1873 and died 17 Aug 1875. Buried at Bangs Cemetery, Paw Paw, Van Buren, MI. Probate was 4 Oct 1875 in Paw Paw.
