AN OLD PIONEER DEAD

The death of Mr. Isaac J. Baldwin removes one of the old pioneers of Hancock and Wood counties. He was an early settler of the town of Findlay. He often related his early recollections of that place, in which he told of the appearance of that town, when surrounded with the forests of early days.
He served as Dept. Recorder, and we believe also as Recorder of Hancock county. In his politics he was an uncompromising Democrat, while in his religious faith Methodism was deeply rooted and revered. He was of a social turn, always obliging and ready to greet all with a kind word.
His body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Findlay, after the religious ceremonies conducted in the M.E. church by his pastor, Rev. F. E. Higbie. His sufferings were great but he rests in peace.
