Myrtle Baldock [as spelled in the paper]
Once again the curtain of life swings back for the passing of one we love, who has gone on to meet her Heavenly Father. She was permitted to live on this earth 47 years. She was a member of the Baptist church here. She labored hard but never complained of her service in the Aid Society, of which she was president ever since it organized years ago. She often expressed her pleasures in that work.
She was more anxious to lighten the burdens of her father and mother and was so thoughtful of them that she neglected her own physical ills until her health was such that she was forced to seek relief, but all in vain. For all that medical aid and loving hands could do was administered, but God in his unerring wisdom saw fit to call her home. She quietly and sweetly fell asleep Saturday morning at 11:30, at the Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis.
The night before leaving for the hospital, she called her cousin to her home for the purpose of having her last talk with her. Her cousin sang to her the song, "Those Golden Bells." She said, "That's fine."
She also said that she felt for several weeks that she was not going to stay here very long and that she had a tender love in her heart for everybody, but if it was the Lord's will, she was ready to go.
She asked her cousin to visit her father and mother often and comfort them in their lonely hours.
She will be greatly missed in and around her home and by a large circle of friends who came in contact with her daily life. The living circle is broken today by the absence of her brother, Conrad, wife, and son, Paul, whom she dearly loved, who are many miles away.
