She was the daughter of James Earl Craft and Bunnie Sue Beck. A managing teller for Wells Fargo in Houston. She lived at the Chateaux Dijon Apartments, where on the morning of February 1, 2002 she, her 22 year old son, Jailall Lewis and 9 year old daughter Bunnie Sue Terry, all became the victims of an arson fire. This fire was the 15th fire at this apartment complex over a three year period. A neighbor heard footsteps going up the stairs, then running back down. Looked out his balcony window to see a wall of fire. Authorities speculate that Donna's daughter, Bunnie was awoken by the mysterious knock on the front door. Unaware of the inferno outside, she opened the door. Donna and Jai ran into the flames, desperate to rescue her. When emergency workers arrived, Bunny was found dead in the stairwell. Donna and Jai had been critically burned over their entire bodies. They were rushed to the hospital where Jai was pronounced dead at 10:30 that morning, Donna died thirty minutes later. An entire family was gone. The full story of this tragedy can be accessed on Unsolved Mysteries website, under the Homicide section.
