BERT BAKER, 61, WAS SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN
Bert Baker, 61, retired carpenter of Lincoln, died Thursday at Fayetteville, Arkansas, while visiting relatives there. He was a Spanish American War Veteran and had lived in and near Lincoln for many years. Surviving are his wife, Jennie; three sons, Floyd of Lincoln, Donald of Nodaway, Iowa, and Elmer of Grand Ronde, Oregon; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Bond of Lincoln and Mrs. Ella Sutter of Grand Roads; five brothers, James D., Albert L. Thomas R., and Samuel, all of Lincoln and Ben of Nodaway, and a sister, Mrs. Lula Underwood of Bedford, Iowa. The body will be brought to Lincoln Sunday for burial.

Ben Baker received a message Saturday informing I’m that his brother, Bert Ranson Baker of Calico Rock, Arkansas, died that day in a hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His body was taken to his old home in Lincoln, Nebraska, and burial services were held in Lincoln on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Lula Underwood and Donald left Wednesday morning for Lincoln to attend the funeral.
