DARLENE C BAKER

FROSTBURG — Darlene Croft Baker, 73, of Braddock Street, Frostburg, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on Monday, May 10, 2004, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Charles Town, W.Va.

Born Feb. 12, 1931, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Rose Ann (Skidmore) Croft. Mrs. Baker was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert P. "Junior" Baker; one brother, Donald Croft; and one sister, Helen Dennison.

She was a member of the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, Farrady Post 24 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Loyal Order of Frostburg Moose Lodge 348, all of Frostburg.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald Baker and wife Rene, Manassas, Va., and Dale Baker and wife Irene, Bowie; one daughter, Mary Ann Ritchie, Brunswick; three grandchildren, Brian Baker, Kelly-Ann Ritchie and Lyndsie Baker; one brother, Jack Croft, Bowie; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Women of the Moose will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and members of the American Legion Auxiliary will hold their memorial service at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. E. "Lee" Griggs officiating.

Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park.
