Mrs. Brown died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at Garden Valley Retirement Village.
She was born March 21, 1909, at Boonville, Mo., the daughter of Otto and Maggie (Riley) Baker. She married Romie P. Brown at Boonville. He died in June 1973 at Kansas City, Mo. She was also preceded in death by a son, Romie P. Brown Jr.; and three sisters.
A Garden City resident since 1973, moving from Overland Park, Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Chipley, Garden City; a brother, Joseph Baker, Houston; two grandsons; a granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Memorials to Garden Valley Retirement Village may be sent in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main, Garden City.
