Mr. Baker was born in Liberty County to the late Robert Baker and Mariah Martin Baker. For most of his adult life Mr. Baker has lived in Illinois. He was a retired laborer and a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago.
Survivors include three daughters, Diane Duengey, Dagmer Gray and Jenell Thomas, all of Chicago; a brother, Robert Baker Jr. of Chicago; three sisters, Wilhelmena Howze and Wilma Robertson, both of Chicago, and the Rev. Earlene B. Mikel of Hinesville; a son-in-law, Wesley Gray of Chicago; and a brother-In-law, John C. Robertson of Chicago.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Dorchester Funeral Home near Midway.
His funeral will be at noon Saturday in the Frank V. Givens Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery in Hinesville.
Dorchester Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
