Our amazing and wonderful mother and grandmother died January 7, 2012 of natural causes.
She was born ninety-six years ago in West Weber, Utah on January 13, 1916, the eldest daughter of Peter and Fortuna Bonecher.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Emery Berrett, and husband Max Baker and grandson Morgan Slater. Also preceding her were her three sisters and their husbands who she was very close to.
Her life was filled with generosity and giving to others. Thinking of others was her creed. Even to the end she had a great sense of humor which attracted others to her.
She attended school in West Weber and then moved to Riverton at age thirteen and graduated from Jordan High School. She was a leader in the community and helped start the first 4th of July celebration in Riverton. She was the founder of Berretts Blossoms; she loved plants, gardening, and flowers. Rena was an avid Jazz fan.
She is survived by three children, Estelle and Bill Slater, Larry and Robyn Berrett, and Dave and Joan Berrett, ten grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
