Samuel LaHue Baker, 88,. of the Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Shawsville, died there early Sunday morning.
Born Jan. 10, 1893, he was the son of the late Joseph Baker and Frances Williams Baker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Stephens Baker.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William Roberta Jennings, Cedar Bluff, Mrs. Taylor "India" MacLeod. Dublin, and Mrs. Cassell "Clara" Jennings, Arlington; one son, Harold W. "Jack" Baker, Earlanger, Ky.; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Calfee, Radford, and 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John K. Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visiting will be today at Stevens with His family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. . The family will be at the resident of Mrs. Taylor MacLeod, 316 Darst Ave., Dublin.
