Reston Baker was born January 15, 1926 to the union of Joseph Baker and Mary Thomas-Baker in Dubuisson, Louisiana. He was the youngest child born of 10 children born to this union. He was a resident of Port Arthur for many years and a member of First Sixth Street Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Reston was united in holy matrimony to Mary Helen Granger and to this union, 3 children were born: Ernest Reston Baker, Lawrence Baker, and Charles Lee Baker. After his first wife's death, he was united in holy matrimony to Jo Ann McDaniel and to this union, 3 children were born: Eleanor Baker, Dallas Joseph Baker, and Spencer Lee Baker.
Reston departed this life September 22, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Helen Granger-Baker; 2 sons, Ernest Reston Baker and Charles Lee Baker; 2 brothers, Joseph Baker and Edward Baker; and 5 sisters, Emily Baker, Malinda Baker, Ollie Pearl Baker, Lela Mae Baker, and Eleanor Baker.
His survivors include: his wife, Jo Ann Baker; 3 sons, Lawrence Baker, Dallas Joseph Baker, and Spencer Lee Baker; 1 daughter, Eleanor Baker-Watkins; 1 sister, Rose Baker-Elam; and an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
