A resident of Lumberton for many years, he was a retired complaint runner for the Beaumont Enterprise.
He was survived by his wife, Joyce Baker; son, Joe Lonnie Baker, Jr.; sisters, Rose Crenshaw and Helen Sibert; brothers, Gilford Baker, Sonny Baker and Tommy Baker; step children, Paul Miller, Cynthia Phillips and Lou Campbell; his special friend, Thomas Pitts, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evina Baker; sister, Gussy Robbins; stepson, Tony Bourque; and, grandson, Jonathan Walker.
