BAKER Charles William "Bill" Baker was born October 24, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio to Arthur W. Baker and Agnes F. Kuhlwein. He passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association, (DESA). He graduated from North High School in 1950 and retired from Western Electric/Lucent Avaya after 32 years. He served in the United States Navy for 6 years and the Columbus Police Auxiliary for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Sandy of 57 years; children, Janice (Larry) Snider, David (Linda) and Douglas (Ann); grandchildren, Jeni (Mike) Bryan, Monica (Justin) Gilkey, Amanda Howe (Albert "Tripp" Vitto), Britney Brumfield (Sean Taylor), Betsy Baker and Jennifer Brumfield; great-grandchildren, Macie and Morgan Gilkey, Mallory Bryan, Baylie Taylor; and many extended family members. Friends and family may call Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 North High Street. Funeral service Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Rd. at 10 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Tim Muller officiating. Burial will be immediately following the funeral at Fernwood Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
