Edmund J. Baker, age 81, of Schererville, IN passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012. He is survived by his nieces: Corliss Preston and Katherine (Paula) Imborek; nephews: Travis (Marissa) Preston and Joshua (Natalie) Imborek; great nephews: Elias Preston, Parker and William Imborek-Boback; sisters-in-law: Kate Preston and Robbie Imborek; brother- in-law, Bob Imborek; and special friend, Arlene Henry. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; brother, Raymond Preston; and sister, Alice Preston. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Rev. Doug Klukken officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Kuiper Funeral Home. Mr. Baker retired from Inland Steel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post #369 of East Chicago. He enjoyed wood-working, photography, and his community at K.O.A.
