Minnie Rose Baker, 88, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Gardens at Friendship Haven. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Celebration Center with Pastor Aaron Flatau of Trinity Lutheran Church Deer Creek officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her two children, John (Holly) Baker of Omaha, NE and Jane (Kenneth) Meythaler of Des Moines, IA; four grandchildren, Laurie Meythaler-Mullins of Des Moines, IA, Jeremy Meythaler of Kansas City, MO, Jordan Baker of Omaha, NE, and Bonnie Moore of Papillion, NE and one great granddaughter, Madelyn Moore; three sisters, Helen Ropte of Thor, IA, Maxine Lage and Delores Larson both of Fort Dodge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; granddaughter, Elizabeth Meythaler; two sisters, Erma Schultz and Lillian Posegate and a brother, Carl Bratmiller.

Minnie Rose Brattmiller the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Rasch) Brattmiller, was born on January 27, 1921 in Fort Dodge. She attended parochial school at Trinity Lutheran School, Deer Creek and graduated from Clare High School. Minnie later graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Dodge with her RN degree. On February 2, 1947, she married Robert E. Baker. After their marriage the couple farmed in Badger area, moving into Badger in 1997. Minnie worked at Lutheran Hospital and also Ellen's Care Center in Fort Dodge. Her husband died in February of 2001. After his death Minnie lived in Badger until December 2005 when she moved to Friendship Haven.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Deer Creek and was involved in the LWML at Trinity. A member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary and was active at the Badger Senior Citizens.

Memorials may be left the VFW Post #1856 or to Trinity Hospice of Fort Dodge.
