Robert Baker Jr., 63, of Radford, died Saturday morning in a Radford hospital.

He was a n employee of Hercules, Inc. far the past 30 years and was chairman of the zoning and appeals board in Radford.

Baker was a member of the Radford Presbyterian Church and a member of the Radford Lions Club. He also served in World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Pais Baker of Radford; a son, Brian, and a daughter, Lucy Baker, both of Radford; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Grayson and Mrs. W.T. Baldwin, both of Radford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Wade Kay. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday a t the DeVilbiss Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to the Radford Rescue Squad or the American Heart Association
