George W. Baker
George Washington Baker, prominent resident of Birmingham, died at his home Tuesday afternoon at 3:55 o'clock, following an extended illness of complications.
Mr. Baker was a son of Joseph and Mary Albright Baker, and was born at Reading, on August 26, 1852. On September 20, 1877, at Birmingham, he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Catherine Waite, who died a number of years ago.
He is survived by these children: Mrs. Lloyd Price, Birmingham; Elroy J. Baker, Altoona, and Frank Baker, Birmingham; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. James Heller, Birmingham, and Mrs. Elizabeth Shultz, Hollidaysburg.
Mr. Baker was a retired employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, a member of the Relief association and the Retired Men's club.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral parlors of Graham and Son, Tyrone, on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Eugene McCahan, pastor of the Arch Spring Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Presbyterian cemetery, Birmingham.
