Avery Franklin Baker died on Sunday, September 11th, at his residence near Hummel, PA. He had been ill a long time and death was due to complications of diseases.
He was born in Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, the son of Benjamin and Catherine (Clapper) Baker and at the time of his was aged 62 years,5 months, and 17 days.
He was a member of the M. E. Church at Hummer.
He was married to Miss Mary Stapleton on June 6, 1902, who survives with the following children: Wayne Baker of Hummel; Mrs. Preston Fisher of Philadelphia; Mrs. Phyllis of Litzenberger; Edgar and Avery at home. Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Elisabeth Swanger of Lewistown; Mrs. Margaret Treece of Hummel; and Mrs. Goldie Black of Altoona.
He had lived a very earnest life and enjoyed the sincere friendship of the entire community and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Reformed Church of Hummel with the Rev. Rowland officiating assisted by Rev. Huyette.
Interment will be made in the cemetery in Hummel.
