Mr. Walter Baker, 57, Calhoun died Oct. 14, 1995 at Gordon Hospital, following an extended illness.

He was born on March 30, 1938, in Whitfield County, son of the late Andrew Jackson and Lemer Fowler Backer. He had lived in Gordon County most of his life, was a textile worker before ill health forced his retirement, and was of the Church of God faith.
