BAKENHUS--Funeral services for Anna Bakenhus on Thursday
Funeral services for Miss Anna Bakenhus, 83, who died Monday after being in failing health about a month, will be held Thursday at 1:15 p.m. at Gass Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church.
The Rev. Martin Bornemann will officiate, and burial will be in Christ Lutheran cemetery. The body will lie in state after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1881, in Platte county, the daughter of Henry and Anna Wilke Bakenhus and attended Dist. 35 and Christ Lutheran school. She lived north of Columbus until 1946, when she moved to Columbus.
Miss Bakenhus was baptized and confirmed in Christ Lutheran church, of which she was a lifetime member. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid, and was also affiliated with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. William (Bertha) Wurdeman of Columbus, five nieces and six nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Louis, Henry, John and Edward, and three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Elsie) Buss, Emma and Minna Bakenhus, all of Columbus; one niece and three nephews.per DON
