Patsy Ann Avery, 79, of Newville, formerly of Rochester, MI and Kalamazoo, MI passed away at Chaplewood, Green Ridge Village of Newville on December 10, 2009.
Born January 18, 1930 in Jackson, MI a daughter of the late Ted and Alice Bair.
In her early years she worked at UpJohn Pharmaceuticals Co., Shakesphere Rod & Reel and Sutherland Paper Co. of Kalamazoo, MI. One of her greatest achievements in life was the wonderful wife and mother that she was to everyone she loved. She was a member of Dickinson Presbyterian Church and former member of 2nd Presbyterian Church of Carlisle. She served as a Deacon for both churches and was a member of Clowns for Christ at 2nd Presbyterian Church. While attending Dickinson Presbyterian Church she was president of the Women's Association, Choir Director, and Deacon. She was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and attended Western Michigan University. She was blessed with an amazing artistic talent in oil painting which she loved to do. She has blessed anyone that has known her and she will be missed but her Spirit will live on.
Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Phillip H. Avery, a daughter and son-in-law Jill and Kim Pike of Lafayette, IN, a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Vikki Avery of Carlisle, a daughter and son-in-law Carol and Gary Frenette of Carlisle. She is blessed with six grandchildren: Jen McCutcheon, Jared Pike, Renee Avery, Patra Avery, Sarah Frenette, and Mike Frenette and two great grandchildren Jonah McCutcheon and Owen McCutcheon and her brother David Bair of Traverse City, MI and her half-brother Larry Bair of Battle Creek, MI.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2009 in Dickinson Presbyterian Church, 12 Church Rd., Carlisle with the Rev. Galen Work officiating. Burial will be in Dickinson Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Carlisle.
