Addie Mae Barrow Baines, of Waverly, VA, died at the VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA. She was born in Sussex County, VA, and was a graduate of Sussex Central High, class of 1964. At an early age she joined the First Baptist Church, WAverly, VA and later became a faithful and devoted member of the House of Prayer where she served as the church secretary, treasurer, Missionary Ministries and the pastor's aide. She was employed at Allied Chemical, Hopewell, VA and later retired as a custodian from Sussex County School System. Addie Mae enjoyed housekeeping, shopping and going out to eat on Fridays. Her favorite TV game show was Wheel of Fortune, which she called "Vannie" and her favorite color was burgundy.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, Waverly, VA. Interment in the church cemetery.
