Joe Ray Bain, 85 of Dumas, passed away on March 18, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Steve Swanson, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus called Joe Ray Bain to his loving arms on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Steve Swanson, pastor of the church, officiating. Viewing is at Morrison Funeral Home from 2:00 to 6:00 in the afternoon on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.

Joe was born to Clarice and George Bain on April 22, 1929 in Claude, TX. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1946. Joe married the love of his life, Norma Jean Hammer on July 6, 1950 in Raton, NM. In 1990, he and his beloved Norma moved to Dumas where they reside now.

For over 40 years, Joe was a successful rancher and farmer and raised a wonderful family. Joe was a 4-H leader, ASCS committee board member, school board member, and a devoted church member in Castle Rock, CO. Joe was also an active board member of Dumas Church of the Nazarene.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and their spouses; daughter-in-law: Marcie Bain.

He leaves behind his wife Norma of the home; three children: Don Bain of Pueblo, CO, Linda and Jim White of Dumas, TX, and John and Beth Bain of Stuart, OK; sister-in-law: Carole Lowe of Cheyenne Wells, CO; nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of special friends who all appreciated his loving nature.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Church of the Nazarene, 402 S Porter, Dumas, TX, 79029 or favorite charity.

The family will be at 134 Floyd.
