A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, in Green Hill Cemetery, Greensboro, conducted by the Rev. David Hicks.
Mr. Bain was a native of Greensboro and retired in 1973, from Reynolds Tobacco Co. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Winston-Salem. William was preceded in death by his first wife, Nelle Bowman Bain and second wife, Estelle Wicker Bain. He was a member of the North Carolina National Guard.
Survivors are his son, James William Bain of Goldston; daughter, Peggy Bain Taylor of Winston-Salem; granddaughter, Kathyrn Nell Taylor; grandson, John Anderson Taylor Jr.; granddaughter, Suzanne Taylor Ramm; and eight great-grandchildren.
