"Richard Duane Bailiff, 64, 701 Ravine Park Blvd., Attica, died at 11:45 p.m. November 8, 1991, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville, Illinois. He had been in failing health the past year and seriously ill the past month. He was born at Marshfield, September 15, 1927, the son of Gilbert F. and Bessie M. Winn Bailiff. He was married May 8, 1948, at Vienna, Australia, to Stefanie J. Boihs. She survives.

He lived in Williamsport, moving to Attica where he lived most of his life. He attended school at Marshfield. He worked at Harrison Steel Casting Company for 46 years, retiring in 1991 as a foreman. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Attica; Order of Foresters; and Greater Beneficial Union of Pittsburgh, (A German-American Club). He enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving, besides his wife, are: one daughter, Mrs. Mike (Irene M.) Collins, West Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs. Lester (Norma) LaDouccur, Malta, Montana, Mrs. Evan (Kathleen) Welch, Hanna, Mrs. Joseph (Juanita) Iles, Floyds Knobs, Mrs. Jim (Mariellen) McDonald, Lafayette; three brothers, Donald Bailiff, Gilbert Bailiff, and Ramon Bailiff, all of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Trevor M. and Tasha M. Collins, both of West Lafayette.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at the St. Francis Xavier Church with the Rev. Duane Craycraft officiating. Buiral will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica, with military graveside services being conducted at the cemetery.
