Brenda Sue Bailey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Sue Bailey on Friday, May 10th, 2013. Brenda has been in declining health for a number of years. She was 55 years of age.

One of three children, Brenda was born on May 14th, 1957, at Pineville. She was the daughter of the late Martin Estep and Georgia Leovia Barnett Bailey. Her brothers, Henry Ellison and Lanta Darrell Bailey have preceded her in death.

Brenda was an accomplished poet. Her gift of words in prose touched many people's lives along the way. Brenda was a long time peer counselor with the Mountain State Center for Independent Living, where she was also served on the board of directors. In the last several years Brenda was involved in the West Virginia Mental Health Consumers' Association.

Although Brenda's biological family has passed away, she was fortunate to have the family of Linda Luikart Tuncsiper. Linda, her dear friend and "Sister of the Heart" preceded her in death on March 13th, 2009. Linda's children, Ermine Tuncsiper Fornelius and her husband, Michael and their children, Sam and Logan and Erdem Tuncisper and his wife, Julie survive. They were blessed to have Aunt Brenda in their lives. Many friends survive as well.

We will remember Brenda all the days of our lives for her kindness and understanding to others who were in need.

Today, Thursday, May 16th, at 1 p.m. we will honor Brenda with a "Service of Remembrance" at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Paul Zutaut will be officiating. There will be a private burial for Brenda in the Bailey Family plot at the Davis Cemetery at Mt. Tabor. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour.

Condolences may be sent to the family's guestbook at www.meltonmortuary. com
