Services for Polly Tinnin of Tulsa, OK will be held at 10:00 o'clock, Wednesday, February 25, 2004 in Broken Arrow, at the Floral Haven Cemetery with Reverend Bobby Jenkins officiating.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory in Wagoner.
Polly was born to Maudie Bell and Henry J. Bailey on April 2, 1924 in Kennett, Missouri.
She passed this life on Sunday, February 22, 2004 at her home in Tulsa while surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 79.
In 1967 Polly moved to Tulsa, raised her family, then she later moved to the Wagoner area until her failing health brought her back to Tulsa.
Polly was a hard working mother, homemaker and wife to the father of her five children. She was very family oriented, always loved having her family around her. Polly was a Sunday School Teacher for many years in her church.
She was a big John Wayne fan and in her younger years she loved dancing. Polly still enjoyed showing off to her family, doing the Charleston and trying to teach her family, her dance steps. She was a great cook, made the best skillet cornbread with no recipes. Polly was a dedicated and loving mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Maudie Bailey, three deceased husbands; Bill Campbell, James O. Tinnin and Ferrell Stewart. Five sisters: Castle Irene, Marie, Barbara Ann, Alberta and Virginia. Two brothers: Amos and Henry J.
She is survived by her two sons; Donald Wayne Campbell and his wife Beverly of Alabama and James O. Tinnin, Jr of Tulsa. Three daughters; Janice Payne and her husband Curtis of Tulsa, Joyce Lynch and her husband Steve of Coweta and Teresa Reaves and her husband Rodger of Porter . Eight Grandchildren: Amy, Zack, Melissa, Steven, Matthew, Misty, Jerrid, Yondi, Trisha, B.J. and Christy. Eight great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
