Mrs. Elizabeth Davis-Bailey was born March 5, 1930 in Salem, AL to the late Craig and Mariah Davis. She departed this life on October 25, 2010 at her residence. She was the oldest daughter being blesses with ten other siblings. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church, Selma, AL. In later years she united with the Love Union Baptist Church, West Point, GA. Elizabeth was always greeting children and parents that traveled on East 12th Street walking to and from school. Those who participated in the Recreation Department, once you made it to the top of East 12th Street, you would find this special mother and grandmother waiting with a warm smile. When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see; if the sum should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me. Elizabeth was a dedicated homemaker for several families in West Point and Lanett areas until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Clanton Bailey, Sr., a stepson and grandchild, Michael Lamar Bailey and Darquez Bailey and a dedicated mother-in-law, Goldie Mae Bailey.
