Edward Scott Bailey was born on September 4, 1941 and passed away on November 16, 2013. He married Bonnie Marie Janusa on September 3, 1966.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Marie Bailey; children, Stacy Lynn Crowley and husband Patrick and Becky Chance and husband Stephen Brett; grandchildren, Bailey Anne Crowley (12), Conner Martin Chance (10), Caden Scott Chance (8); and Torin Cuinn Crowley (7); brother, Christian Sager; and sister, Missy Goerner.

Scott was a native San Antonian. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, San Antonio, TX in 1959 and San Antonio College in 1963. His interest in Dixieland Jazz took him and his trombone to New Orleans in 1964 where he became a prominent player at the famous Preservation Hall in the French Quarter. He played in the house bands of such greats as Al Hirt and Pete Fountain and was known in the Big Easy as Bill Bailey. It was during this time that he met his wife, Bonnie. They met in April 1966, were married in September 1966 and just recently celebrated their 47th Anniversary.

Scott was a Materials Manager for the Datapoint Corp in San Antonio, TX for 15 years. During this time he was an active musician, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a vital member of the Alzafar Shrine Band. While serving as the Band President in 1987-1988 the Shrine Band won the 1988 Prestigious National Title for Best Shrine Band in the United States. The competition was held in New Orleans and the Shrine band defeated the favored New Orleans band, Jerusalem Temple. The Shriners had never before taken National Title, nor have they done so since. In 1989, still an active musician, Scott began his own business. He was owner and President of the Anthony Armstrong Agency where he booked the finest entertainment throughout most of San Antonio's venues. Following 20 years as a successful business owner, he retired and moved to Georgetown to be closer to his grandchildren. Following his 2005 move to Georgetown, he was the leader of the Second Line Jazz band and served as a board member of the Austin Jazz Society. Although he was an active member in various capacities, within several church music programs throughout the years, he made Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown his final church home, where he became a long-standing member of the Crestview Orchestra. Scott was a professed Christian and knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

A visitations with family and friends will be from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, the 22nd of November 2013 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 23rd of November 2013 at Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown with Pastor Dan Wooldridge and Chaplain Robert Smith both officiating.
