Double Funeral Held
Monday for Konawa
Couple Killed in Crash
A Konawa couple killed in Friday night's fatal accident were buried together yesterday in Vamoosa Cemetery north of Konawa.
The funeral services for Konawa residents Robert Gerald "Scruffy" Bailey and his wife Camilla Pearl (Brewer) Bailey were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the Church of Christ in Konawa.
The services were under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, and were officiated by Kevin Duck and Frank Brewer.
Burial followed at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Robert Bailey, 56, and Camilla Bailey, 59, died Friday, June 25, 2004, several miles north of Konawa in a two-car accident.
Camilla was born in Amarillo, Texas, on Aug. 8, 1944, to Albert Holik and Fern Elizabeth (Walker) Holik.
Robert was born on March 23, 1948, to Lonnie Sam Bailey and Imogene (Yerby) Bailey, also in Amarillo.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Camilla, a hairdresser, moved to Ada, and then came to Konawa 31 years ago. Robert, a handyman, came to Konawa four years ago, from Amarillo, Texas.
The two were married in Konawa on Nov. 15, 2000.
Robert was a Baptist, Camilla a member of the Church of Christ.
Camilla was preceded in death by her father and her first husband, Ben Brewer.
She is survived by her mother, Fern Holik of Konawa; a son, Randall Brewer of Ada; a daughter, Janette Duck of Konawa; two brothers, George Holik of Weston, Colo., and Johnny Holik of Cromwell; and four grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Imogene Bailey of Konawa; a brother, Clinton Wade Bailey of Florida; and a sister, Marian Catherine Gibson of Alvin, Texas.
Pallbearers were Mike Boren, Gerald Jackson, Carl Wyatt, Jim Lowe, Homer Downey and David Brewer.
