Obituary from Courier Democrat May 18, 1916:
"A. L. Bailey died at his home near Hector Tuesday night May 9, at 11 O'clock. He suffered a stroke of paralysis some two years ago, which at first hardly noticeable, only the vocal organs then being affected. But his affliction gradually grew worse and for several months his speech was entirely gone.
Mr. Bailey was born 59 years ago. He was left an orphan at an early age with neither father nor mother, and his boyhood days were a struggle. By working for neighbors he managed to live and at the age of twenty was married to Miss Caroline VanZandt, who with six children survice him. All the children live in the county except Mrs. May Campbell of Webbers Falls, Okla.
Andrew Bailey was not alazy man having made a good living from childhood and always in demand for work. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and had served the Rock Springs congregation asan elder for the past twenty years. In Sunday School and church work hewas a staunch worked for the advancement for religion.
Funeral services were condeucted by his pastor, Rev. S. C. Tackett, assisted by A. S. Kinslow, his lifelong friend. He was buried in the Rock Springs Cemetery.
