BANGOR – Carl L. Bailey, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior Dec. 10, 2011, at a Bangor hospital after complications from surgeries. He was born March 24, 1938, in Bancroft, the son of Hale M. and Phyllis (Peters) Bailey.
Carl started working at age 15 driving truck for Earle Marble and then worked for the state of Maine and Forestry Service in Stacyville. He worked almost 40 years for Grant Trailer Sales, where he loved his job and his many friends at work. Carl loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He loved camping and going to Florida, and in his younger years riding his Harley. His favorite hobby was napping. There are many fond memories of times at the Country Jams at Peakes Hill Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary (McLaughlin) Bailey; daughters, Barbara Harnish and husband, Stephen, of Bangor, Deborah Boulier and husband, Allan, of Dedham and Carlene Holman of Dedham; grandchildren, Brian Harnish and Cara of Bangor, Heather Boulier of Dedham, David Boulier and Samantha of Brewer and Amy Holman of Dedham; great-grandson, Dominic Coolidge of Winterport; a sister, Genie Daley and husband, Elwin, of Alexander; several nieces and nephews, and many friends at work and Kev-Lan.
Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. (Bangor Daily News posted 12/11/2011)
