*Cape Cod Times (Hyannis, MA) - August 19, 2002* Deceased Name: FALMOUTH - Alice G. (Browne) Bailey 65, died Friday at the Royal Nursing Center In Falmouth.
She was the wife Of the late Earl L. Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey was born In Boston And raised And educated In Hyde Park.
In 1975 she moved to Fairbanks, Ala., And later graduated from the University Of Alaska with a bachelor Of arts degree In social work.
Mrs. Bailey began her career working at a shelter for battered women where she developed a program for abused women And their batterers. She also worked with Vietnam veterans.
In 1986, she moved to Mashpee And worked as a counselor for Emerson House In Falmouth. She moved to Dennis And worked at Elder Services In Orleans until becoming the director Of the Chatham Council on Aging, until her illness forced her to retire In 1992.
After retiring she moved to Port Charlotte, Fla.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by two sons, Earl F. Bailey Of Oceanside, Calif., And Russell S. Bailey Of Vista, Calif.; two daughters, Susan B. Bourque Of Sandwich And Lesley J. Almand Of Vero Beach, Fla.; a brother Eugene Browne Of Florida; seven grandchildren; And many nieces And nephews.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Doane, Beal And Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis.
Burial will follow In the Oak Ridge Cemetery In South Dennis.
A calling hour will be held the hour before the service at the funeral home.
