Born September 14, 1920, in Huntington County, she was a daughter of George John and Minnie Marie Fowerbaugh Riggars. Her marriage was on May 12, 1941, at Lexington, Kentucky, to Henry Bailey, who preceded her in death on May 12, 1983.
She was a Bluffton resident for 65 years and was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Bluffton.
Surviving are one son, Rodney Gene Bailey of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Marie Guptail of Fort Wayne; one sister, Martha Jayne Ormsby of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, was a son, Ted Lee Bailey, who died in 1993.
Calling will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday with Rev. Neil Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Wells Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Bluffton
