A retired chemical engineer with the Louisiana Office of Highways and a resident of Denham Springs, he died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999. He was 83 and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Air Force captain. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Josephine Broussard Bailey, Denham Springs; a daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Bailey, Baton Rouge; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John C. III and Yamirca R. Bailey, Roger Paul and Gwen P. Bailey and David Keith Bailey, all of Denham Springs; two brothers, Sidney Dale Bailey, San Antonio, and Warren Bail ey, Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren, Michael Sean Junker, Kelly Johanna Junker, Rebecca Lynn Bailey, Joshua Lane Bailey, Benjamin Austin Bailey, Crystal J. Bailey, Alisa J. Bailey, Karie J. Bailey, Ray Correa, Yamirka Correa, Gigie Anaya, Jennifer J. Bailey and Catherine C. Bailey; and three great-grandchildren, Evan Sean Junker, Charles Jensen Junker and Andrew Bailey. Pallbearers will be Stephen Bailey, Louis Bailey, Donald Broussard, Cyril Floyd Broussard and Michael Junker Broussard.Honorary pallbear ers are Clarence Morrison, Leon Jackson, Eddie Resitar, Doris Sanders, Lee Flores and Judge Frank Foil. He was past department commander and past department adjutant of the American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may bemade to AmericanLegion Boys State Fund of Louisiana or Magnolia United Methodist Church Building Fund.
