Derwent Conniston "D.C." Bailey, 79 years of age and a former Colorado Springs resident, passed away on April 4th, 2011. He was born on September 9th, 1931 in Lorado, West Virginia to Luther and Belva Bailey. In 1948 D.C. enlisted in the United States Army and served with distinction, becoming a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Command Sergeant Major in 1972. D.C. is survived by his wife, Mei Chung; five children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Condolences may be sent to the family in care of Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A service was held at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910, Saturday April 9th 2011. Inturment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
