Nellie was born on February 5, 1926, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of William C. and Ethel R. (Morehous) Bailey.
She graduated from Portland High School in 1944 and then traveled to Washington D.C. where she worked for the Department of the Navy.
Nellie married James S. Morrical on February 2, 1947 and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1985.
Nellie and her husband farmed in Noble Township for many years. She drove a school bus for the Jay County School Corporation from 1969-1980 and helped deliver Meals on Wheels for several years. She was a member of the West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland, Jay County Historical Society and Noble Busy Bees Home Extension Club.
Survivors include daughters, Susan (John) Carpenter, Linda (Jim) Pocta, Donna (Jerry) Richards; son, James (Jane) Morrical; brother, Wayne (Emma) Bailey; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services for Nellie Morrical will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Nichols will officiate and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009, from 3-7 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
