Obituary for Alice M. Bailes
Vernon, Ohio Alice M. Bailes, age 89, died on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, Pennsylvania. She was born on December 11, 1921, in Gustavus, Ohio, the daughter of Alda Mae (McCracken) and Milo Martin Hines. Mrs. Bailes was a 1940 graduate of Vernon High School. As a young lady she helped on her Dad's farm. Mrs. Bailes was the secretary for Bailes Sohio for over thirty years and drove School Bus for Joseph Badger Schools in the 1970's. She was a member of the Vernon Methodist Church and a fifty year member of the Johnston VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Bailes enjoyed dancing, traveling, camping, cooking, playing cards and spending time with her dog Gidget. She is preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Roy N. Bailes; three sons, Roy Lee Bailes, James Milo Bailes and Robert Keith Bailes; a grandson, Jeffery Lee Bailes; a granddaughter Christine Lynn Bailes; a daughter-in-law, Dixie M. Bailes and her twenty year companion, Donald Simpson. Survivors include three daughters, Alda M. (George) Letcher of Vernon, Ohio, Marsha A. (Blaise) Tunstall of Jamestown, Pennsylvania, and Brenda C. (David) Reighard of Canfield, Ohio; two sons, Larry G. Bailes of Canfield, Ohio and David Lee Bailes of Gustavus, Ohio; two sisters, Arlene Bailes of Mecca, Ohio, and Ginny Letcher of Vernon, Ohio; twenty grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Services, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 9th from 11:00am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Baumgardner's, PO Box 285, Kinsman, OH 44428.
